ADOPTION SUPERVISOR - MAIN OFFICE, FORT WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA


Job Summary: 

The Adoption Supervisor will report to the Adoption Director and oversees the facilitation of all adoption programs as well as all operations pertaining to the adoption programs. This person is responsible for supervising adoption social workers and the supervised providers. The Adoption Supervisor is expected to have a solid understanding of Hague Standards and all local, state, federal and foreign adoption regulations, and monitor that these regulations are adhered to by staff.  In addition, the Adoption Supervisor will work together with other management team members to prepare for annual state licensing, Hague reaccreditation and meet with all licensing agents during inspections.    


The Adoption Supervisor will be responsible for the facilitation of two international adoption programs. 


Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited program of social work, LSW or LCSW preferred.  At least 5 years of experience providing home study and adoption services.  At least 3 years of supervising experience in children adoption.  Knowledge of international adoption.  Excellent communication, organizational and public relations skills. Ability to work with adoptive families individually or in a group setting.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Internet.


Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the adoptive families to complete adoption paperwork
  • Supervises adoption social workers, domestic and foreign supervised providers by supporting social workers through casework decision-making, providing ongoing training to build worker competencies and reinforce positive social work ethics and values
  • Conducts regular LHAA social services staff meetings for case review and evaluation
  • Ensures adequate record keeping on all assigned cases
  • Follows all policies, procedures and philosophies of the agency, assesses agency procedures to provide adoption services to families, to ensure that agency programs meet Hague standards, and all country, state and federal regulations regarding adoption services
  • Oversees the staff review of all documents submitted by families for the Dossier
  • Provides program information by phone, email, or in person
  • New programs development
  • Provides home study and post adoption services to families, as needed

HOME STUDY COORDINATOR - MAIN OFFICE, FORT WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA


Job Summary: 

The Home Study Coordinator is responsible for promoting and providing excellent home study services by effectively interacting with staff, clients and other agency/office components, and utilizing effective time management to ensure all reports and documents are completed in a timely manner. It is currently a part time

position of 30 hours/week. However, after 3-6 months, this position can go to full time at 40 hours/week. The hourly rate of pay for an experienced social worker is $20-$22.


Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related human service field, MSW preferred.  A minimum 3 years experience providing adoption services required. Knowledge of international adoption preferred.  Excellent organizational and public relations skills needed. The ability to work with adoptive families individually or in a group setting.  Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Internet.


Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in human service field, along with proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint, excellent writing skills, and professionalism a must.  Candidates should possess the competency to multi-task with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Applicant should demonstrate excellent clinical and assessment skills, along with strong communication skills.  Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.


Responsibilities:

  • Take inquiry phone calls/emails for home study and post adoption/placement services.
  • Instruct families to prepare documents for home study; Answer all questions families may have.
  • Conduct home studies and post adoption/placement services according to agency procedures; Ensure all home studies are completed in compliance with state regulations, USCIS, and the country of placement.
  • Coordinate with contract social workers as needed.
  • Keep track of home study cases, including when updates and post adoption/placement reports will be necessary.
  • Constantly communicate with all families who are in post-adoption placement phase; Assist families with obtaining all legal documents (i.e. social security card, Certificate of Citizenship, etc.); Provide families with post-adoption resources and support.
  • Review paperwork and collect payment as required for submission of home study and post-adoption/placement reports.
  • Document maintenance including, but not limited to, preparation, scanning, printing of home study/post placement/adoption paperwork.

CONTRACT SOCIAL WORKER - PITTSBURGH AREA OF PENNSYLVANIA


Job Summary: 

Living Hope Adoption Agency is seeking a part-time caseworker to conduct pre-adoption home studies and post-placement/adoption supervision in compliance with agency, Hague Convention and State of Pennsylvania adoption requirements in the Pittsburgh area of the State. 


Work Experience Requirements:

At least two years professional experience. Prior experience in child welfare or adoption preferred, but not required.  


Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in human service field, along with proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint, excellent writing skills, and professionalism a must.  Candidates should possess the competency to multi-task with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Applicant should demonstrate excellent clinical and assessment skills, along with strong communication skills.  Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home studies for initially approved families according to agency expectations and procedures.
  • Provide post-placement and post-adoption supervision and reports during the designated supervisory period.
  • Answer routine inquiries from prospective adoptive families requiring home study and post adoption services in Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Travel required within a three hour radius of your Pittsburgh, PA location.
  • Document maintenance, including but not limited to: preparation; scanning; printing of home study/post-placement/adoption paperwork.
  • Interacts effectively with staff, visitors, clients and other agency/office components.
  • Assist with maintenance of the agency’s license to operate in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Utilize effective time management to ensure all reports and documents are completed in a timely manner.
  • Consult regularly with Adoption Director regarding case progress.
